UN Sustainable Development Goals
With the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of their Agenda 2030, the United Nations have laid down guidelines for securing the global development of sustainability issues in the economic, social and ecological areas. They came into force on January 1, 2016 and have a term of 15 years.
It is extremely important to us that Aninsu always acts in accordance with these goals. With the permission of the United Nations for the use of the icons, we would like to give you an insight into where Aninsu can be found within these goals. To this end, we emphasize the goals within which we are actively committed to sustainable development. The order is not based on an evaluation, but on the scope of our respective activities. At the same time, the list is of course not exhaustive.
Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives for all people of all ages and promote their well-being.
Aninsu is synonymous with well-being. Everything we do revolves around physical and mental well-being and a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. For this reason, we develop products that are as sustainable as possible from production onwards and help us to protect our environment, but above all ourselves. Our natural cosmetic soaps are a good example of this: they are vegan, natural and optimized for their intended use in order to offer the best possible alternative to conventional (liquid) soaps.
Goal 12: Ensure sustainable patterns of consumption and production
Our products are made in Germany. We make sure that our producers act sustainably and implement as many measures as possible that make sense for our future, e.g. B. the use of green electricity. We also develop products that either last longer than traditional alternatives (e.g. solid soaps vs. liquid options) or generally have a long service life (e.g. our accessories).
Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
We are part of the Leaders for Climate Action initiative and were involved in an Earth Day campaign to raise awareness that each of us can do something in just 5 minutes to make a better future. In addition, as a company, we strive for climate neutrality and will be able to have this certified as soon as we are 1 year old.
Goal 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
We are partners of the non-profit start-up Klimawiese and supported them this year by purchasing 500 shares of the "Zukunftswiese Lebens(t)raum" project worth €500. In addition, our natural cosmetics are cruelty-free, as required by law, which is a matter of course for us, as we speak out against violence of any kind.
Goal 8: Promote lasting, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, productive full employment and decent work for all
We deliberately chose Germany as a production location, although there are significantly cheaper alternatives. However, the decisive factors for us are unbeatable arguments such as short supply chains, strengthening the regional economy and, last but not least, German labor law, which ensures that people who manufacture our products are paid appropriately and treated fairly in principle.
Goal 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and support innovation
It is important to us to promote industrial innovations. Admittedly we are still too small to be able to do this on a larger scale, but we believe that every step is a step forward. So we started looking for sustainable packaging options for future products that cannot be wrapped in paper. There are many exciting approaches, many of which are unfortunately not yet ready for the market, but the hopes are justified. Our goal here is to have sustainable packaging solutions ready for relevant products when we need them, but also to give feedback to the relevant companies in advance.
Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
Equality between women and men is a living reality for us. And we go one step further: apart from the fact that our products are unisex and we also strive for appropriate, diverse representation in our imagery on social media. At the same time, it is important to us that gender and any other personal characteristics should never play a role, neither in job allocation, payment or in any other context. In this respect, we expand this goal for ourselves to "equality for all in every respect". In everyday life, however, this also means supporting underrepresented groups of people as long as there is no general equality. An example of how we live it is e.g. B. that we make sure that at least one woman is part of the management at our partner companies.
You too are part of the solution
Even if it is absolutely essential that politicians and business take care of achieving the goals, together with society they will achieve this much better and faster. This is where you come in: as part of the society we live in, you can also contribute to the success of the 2030 Agenda, because we are all part of the solution!
