Comedogenic and non-comedogenic oils

Comedogenic oils are those that tend to clog pores and can cause acne. Using non-comedogenic oils can help promote a clearer complexion.

It is important to note that not all oils are suitable for every skin type. Those with oily or acne-prone skin should opt for non-comedogenic oils, while those with dry or mature skin may benefit from oils with higher comedogenicity. The following are some examples of comedogenic oils:

  5. Almond Oil: Almond oil is a very mild oil that is rich in vitamin E and fatty acids. It is particularly suitable for sensitive or dry skin and helps to strengthen the skin barrier.
  6. Sunflower Oil: Sunflower oil is a lightweight oil rich in linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid that moisturizes the skin. It is also rich in vitamin E, which protects the skin from free radical damage.

There are many other non-comedogenic oils such as evening primrose oil or hemp seed oil.
