Dry skin needs special attention and a suitable soap can make an important contribution to its care. However, with so many soaps on the market, it is not always easy to find the best option for you. At the same time, there is no one best soap for every person, as everyone's skin is different. Here we present some important factors to consider when choosing the best soap for dry skin.
Definitely natural soap with overgreasing
Natural soaps are an excellent choice for dry skin as they offer several advantages over ordinary commercial, machine-made soaps. Natural soaps are made from natural ingredients that are gentle and nourishing to the skin. They do not contain synthetic chemicals or irritating ingredients that can dry out the skin. Instead, they often contain moisturising oils that provide essential nutrients and moisture to the skin. Natural soaps also have the advantage of being made in small batches and often by hand, which allows for careful control of ingredients and a high-quality formulation. With their natural properties and nourishing ingredients, natural soaps can help to soothe, moisturise and give dry skin a healthy glow.
Handmade soaps in particular are preferable as they can be re-lubricating. To do so, they must be overgreasy. However, manufacturers do not usually specify whether their soaps are superfatted or not. Therefore, it is worth asking.
Incidentally, our Nirvana soaps for hands, face and body are all overgreasy and handmade in Germany.
Moisturizing ingredients for dry skin
When choosing a soap for dry skin, moisturising ingredients are of great importance. Look for ingredients such as glycerin, coconut oil, jojoba oil, shea butter or aloe vera that moisturise and soften the skin. These ingredients help reduce the skin's moisture loss while strengthening its natural protective barrier.
For our Nirvana soaps we use e. g. argan and coconut oil from controlled organic cultivation. All our soaps contain turmeric extract and sea buckthorn fruit oil, so every wash becomes an Ayurvedic and spa experience, accompanied by a sensual, unique fragrance inspired by Indian incense.
Avoid irritating ingredients
Dry skin tends to be more sensitive and react negatively to irritating ingredients. Avoid soaps that contain synthetic fragrances, alcohol or strong detergents as they can dry and irritate the skin. Instead, look for mild and gentle soaps that are specifically designed for dry skin.
Alex, our founder, developed the Nirvana soaps for his dry skin and is so happy with the results that he founded Aninsu to share his experience. The soaps are handmade in Germany, contain only natural ingredients and the scent is a composition of natural fragrances.
Natural ingredients for gentle cleansing
Natural ingredients ensure good cleansing of dry skin without drying it out too much. Basically, it must be stated that every cleansing substance can dry out the skin. How much depends on their aggressiveness. To compensate for this, natural soaps add nourishing oils so that the end result is skin that is both cleansed and cared for.
Soaps with natural ingredients such as olive oil, almond oil, chamomile or oats can help soothe, condition and lock in moisture. They are also rich in vitamins and antioxidants that can help regenerate and protect the skin.
We only use organic nourishing oils and additionally turmeric and sea buckthorn for our Nirvana soaps, because only a well-groomed skin is a happy skin.
